kvlt days

news news news. firstly, i am finally updating again from my new place with my WIFE melody! so much has happened since the last update. melody and i got married, we are pregnant, i moved back to the virginia highlands van michael, my head is buzzed clean, etc. i am happier than i could ever be. if the baby is a girl it will be named astrid, and if it is a boy it will be named adrian. it will no doubt be the most beautiful, badass baby to walk among us. also, so many things to write about. first off, it is a black metal season. from now until april, almost nothing else will be played in my stereo. the top five records right now are as follows:

satyricon - rebel extravaganza.

craft - fuck the universe.

mayhem - de mysteriis dom sathanas.

immortal - all shall fall.

darkthrone - transilvanian hunger.

(btw, the TNRM book by Peter Beste is my most prized coffee table book.)

so much inspiration for this coming season also. gareth pugh, rick owens, dior homme, chronicles of never, komakino, helmut lang, photography, films (i.e. hellraiser and the matrix namely). a few key pieces i will be picking up soon.

i am most excited about the boots as they were the most note-worthy piece in kris' first dior campaign, and i found them for a near steal. AND anti-sweden jeans. fucking jeans made my norwegians who love norwegian black metal, hate swedes, and limit pressings to 666 pairs per design! the first pair of jeans to ever actually call my name!

i plan on so many things coming this fall/winter. first and foremost, to be the best husband i can possibly be. secondly, i'd like to start a quasi-solo black metal project. i'd also like to dabble in a lot of altering/designing of clothing myself. blah blah. oh before i forget, i've been meaning to upload pictures of some of my paintings for months, but i had lost the usb cable. well i finally found it so here a few are.

i, assassin

right now:

-nip/tuck seasons 2 and 3.
-gareth pugh fall 09 menswear.
-record shopping.
-painting.
-home-made summer(muscle) shirts.
-early gary numan.
-10-14 lace boots.
-dateaphobia.
-aspiring to get into the hellraiser series.
-planning a trip to berlin come summer's end.

also, the new cheap monday shirts are quite tasty. examples:

also, look of inspiration for summer.

and already plotting for the design concept of my next apartment. hoping to meet the current black, more traditional gothic look with my love for contemporary clean lines and minimalism.

"i'm just a painting that's still wet.
if you touch me i'll be smeared
you'll be stained...
stained for the rest of your life."

Its cold outside

um... amazing.

very busy lately. all good things. my right sleeve is coming along beautifully, pictures available soon. painting is completely flowing. i feel inspired in fashion by so many things that are completely uncharacteristic of spring/summer. also, a trip to berlin will more than likely be happening at summer's end. let me suggest my infatuation right now:

the informers (book and film)

next to american psycho this is my favorite bret easton ellis story. set in los angeles in 1983, the story is basically about relates the excess of the eighties to los angeles, and how at the time and place you really had to be a terrible person in some way. phenomenal. i haven't been that bummed by a film since requiem for a dream. it also inspired my to buy bigger ray ban wayfarers. see exhibit b.

again, gary numan is awesome.

i am living, loving, and doing whatever i want.

umbrella

i'll start off with these videos (which are to be played while reading).

so i'm going to address two things here. first off, lady gaga is a pop-culture abomination. how could so many people be so in to her? she blatantly rips on her direct influences in everything she does. in one video i looked into she ripped freddie mercury, early-nineties madonna, bowie, AND manson. she uses all of this "different" visual accompaniment to simply mask one thing: her music sucks cock. it is the most typical, mundane modern electronic pop i've heard since kanye west began chugging on daft punk's cocks. she sucks and i'd like to boycott her life.

secondly, i'm discovering some new things that i'm just too late in the year (or too early) to still pull inspiration from. first being from a british designer named gareth pugh. his fall 09 collection is great with the exception of a few details. here are some of my favorites:

it's growing increasingly difficult to find new designers that can speak to me, and this dude is going it. apparently he loves the film predator? could that possibly explain the occasional alien-like headpieces that i love so much? possibly. as of right now the next pair of boots i am looking to purchase are the demonia riot 12 lace boots.

i'd rather a level, crepe sole but i think these are just fine. at only 110 bucks, i'll take whatever sole these shoes have for as good as they look otherwise.

i honestly don't feel like doing much tonight. i've got a vanilla coke zero, twizlers licorice, bauhaus - in the flat field on in the background, and a painting in mind. that sounds like a fairly warm reception in my own alleged cave.

beauty and the beast

i am obsessing over david bowie at the moment.

why do i have such a soft spot for theatrical singers? manson, bowie, danzig, curtis, etc. at any rate, his berlin period is something i'm dabbling in right now, but nothing does it more for me than diamond dogs. although "heros" may or may not give it some competition for the moment.

which brings me to another current interest of mine. the occult. i've been interested in studying the occult for some time, and i bought aleister crowley's "moonchild" just recently. i haven't gotten to far in too it, but the fact that it is obviously good enough to have fields of nephilim's one big single named after it is good enough for me.

appearance wise though i am very into the look of jeans loosely laying atop boots again, or a more tapered dress pant cropped slightly higher.

i also love loose hanging accessories like chains or (my favorite right now) suspenders laying freely as an almost homage to the classic bondage pant. see exhibit below.

i'm feeling fairly inspired lately, and oddly enough a little late for my season. spring is turning out to be fairly drab so far which is fine by me.

monday

this weekend was without question the craziest weekend i have had in quite some time. i went to florida to take part in my grandmother's wedding. she had been married to this turd for like thirty-something years and he died. she meets dick, dick immediately proposes and we wind up at the wedding three months later. firstly, florida is the armpit of america. such awful weather, and when you go to a place like clearwater you forget what life is like for all who are functioning, non-retired citizens. i digress. we find out that dick hyndes is a huge dick and my grandmother almost got an annulment immediately after the wedding. my mom almost kicked his ass, at which point i would have kicked his ass as well. after a long time i returned home to my wonderful girlfriend and we saw the watchmen. so good. time was not even a factor as i was on the edge during the entire movie waiting for the next twist. the silk spectre totally made melody think that i want to get her a pair of knee-high latex boots. i might though... anyways, today i bought the new collector's edition of bram stoker's DRACULA.

it's so much better than the original dvd. it contains a second disc that is entirely about the costume design, minimal set design, primitive filming technique, etc. that movie really is amazing and is to this day one of my favorite of all time. so here i set, heavily engaged in it and uploading my recently acquired collection of classical music. a few afterthoughts from the weekend.
